The hippos made a circle of all the sounds that we have learnt so far this term.

They did such a good job of hearing the sounds!

Science-Will it work?

We have been trying to make skipping ropes using all sorts of materials to see if they will work well.

Paper was too light and not strong enough compared to our school skipping rope. So we tried plastic bags. We twisted some and plaited one. 

They were still too light but a little stronger. We also tried using straws. 

They worked well to skip with but needed strong joins.

We have learnt the sounds of the letters that start with a tall stick. Here they are...

Elephants and eggs

Here is the last letter that has an open moth in it - short stick, open mouth 'e'.

We made eggs and elephants!!

Geese and gorillas

Another letter starts with an open mouth - open mouth, short stick, hanging stick, flick 'g'. We made a goose or a gorilla!
