We are finding out where in the world we all come from . . .

WOW, we come from all over the world - how exciting!! 

Maths Week counting

We have counted all the outside stairs and now we need to use Mr. Plus to add them all together.

We had so much exchanging to do!!! We wonder how many steps there actually are.

Favourite toys

We sorted our favourite toys. Can you see which toy is the favourite in Room 19?

Guess what? 4 people like soft toys and they are all girls! 4 people like transformers and they are all boys!! We have had fun sorting things.🤗

100 things

We counted out groups of 100 in our classroom.

We made 13 groups of 100. That is 1300 and it looks like this . . .

100 days!!!

We have been at school for 100 days!!!!

We do heaps of learning about numbers every day.

Weaving

We have done some weaving to make a night sky for our Maui's sun to rise up in. We first had to make the blue and purple paint darker - we added black!

It can be a bit tricky, but we keep trying!

We feel so proud when we are all done 😃

Book Bag statistics

We sorted our book bags next 

"The pink line is the longest and there are 6 children with pink book bags."

"The blue line is one shorter than the pink line."

"There are 5 light pinks and 1 dark pink. That makes 6."

"There are only 3 red ones."

"Red has one more than the green and purple."

"If green had one more then purple would have the least."

Lunchbox statistics

This is what we said about our sorted lunch boxes: 

"The green, blue, pink and purple all have the same amount." 

"They all have 4."

"Red only has 2."

Big bad wolf!

Who is that teaching us today? 

It is the big bad wolf but we are not even scared!!

Book Week door

We loved reading Joy Cowley's books about Greedy Cat! Our doorway was about the time he ate so much . . .

that he got stuck in his cat door 😄

Enclosures

We made an enclosure thinking about what our little animal needs . . .

Like food, shelter, a clean bed,

Space to exercise, water and LOVE!

Pets

We know what all pets need. 

It is sooo important that we think about their needs if we have pets because they don't have a voice. 

The sun

We learnt many facts about the sun using our white thinking hats . . .

Butterfly!

Our butterfly came out of the chrysalis! She needed to dry her wings and then she . . . flew away!

Chrysalis

Our baby caterpillar is changing into a chrysalis now!!

Our other chrysalis is turning black.

Active learners

Caterpillars

Our big caterpillar changed into a chrysalis after we had gone home!

Our little caterpillar hatched out of its egg over the weekend. He is getting bigger every day!!

On the beach

We made islands,

and had a teaparty

On the beach

We found a little river running along the beach and when we stepped in it we said, "Our feet are sinking!"

Then we started digging . . . 

and we found 2 little creatures :-)

Long Bay Beach playground

The playground was such fun! Some of us got to the very top of the climbing pyramid . . .

and we used the Pinehill Way to remember the toddlers who we were sharing the playground with.

Parts of a book

We have been learning the names for the parts of a book: the cover, page,spine, title, words, letters, front, back, top and bottom. Wow, so much to learn . . . but SO exciting!!!
