Goldilocks

Here is our first Fairytale - Once upon a time . . . 

There was Goldilocks and the 3 bears.

Jack Flash

Jack Flash came to visit us with his jumping beanstalk!

The beanstalk grew and grew and Jack got to climb it up to the clouds! 

The golden goose hid Jack from the giant.

We all loved the show and we laughed a lot!!

Mural

I wonder what we will be learning this term?

Wishy-Washy illustrations

Mrs Davies was blown away by our amazing illustrations that she used them around our classroom door for book week.

Book Week

Joy Cowley writes soooooo many books and we love them all!! 

We can read the Mrs Wishy-Washy blurbs and match them to the Joy Cowley books.

We wonder if the rest of the school can get them correct too.

Bubble and Squeak

On Friday some children found 2 rabbits at our school. They were very cute! We gave them some food to eat but they wanted to sleep.

This is Bobin's elephant enclosure. He used so much cello tape!

Chaeyeon and Lacie have a very happy dolphin and...

Toni, Reed and Jessica 's giraffe is so pleased with his beautiful enclosure too!

Short stick letters

We have done all the letters that start with a short stick.

We looked on the internet to find a nautilus and he was going backwards!! We have also finished all the letters that start with a tall stick!

We love doing the activities for each letter and we can sing songs for each one too, like  " Tigers on tiptoes t,t,t. Tigers on tiptoes t,t,t. Tigers on tiptoes t,t,t. T is the sound that T makes! "

Making our enclosures

We started making our own enclosures...

There was lots of colouring in with pastels...

Cutting and gluing...

But, we found out that the strong duct tape is VERYsticky!!

Tiger enclosure

We made a tiger enclosure together. We had to think about where he sleeps, what he eats and what he likes to do for fun!

Ferdaws and Reed love playing with our enclosure. Can you see his pool full of water?

buddy reading

This is a favourite time of our day - the time that we get to share our reading book from yesterday with a buddy. We share elbow to elbow and knee to knee just like Katie and Veronika!

Bobin's World

 Bobin's loves playing in the corner. He builds amazing places. This is his world!

Bubbles

We watched a show about bubbles. Alan blew the biggest bubbles we had ever seen! He made the bubbles with a mixture.

Christopher drew a picture of him blowing hundreds of bubbles!

Monarch Butterfly

Mrs Olsen brought us 2 chrysalises and...

We got to watch them hatch! 

We know it is a boy butterfly because of the black spots on his wings. Did you know that?

A 'g' and 'q'

This week's letters were open mouth, short stick, possum tail 'g' and open mouth, short stick, hanging stick, flick ' q'

Look at our giggling gorillas and quiet queens.

I wonder what letter we will do next?

Good colouring

We are learning what good colouring looks like...

Jessica showed me that she CAN do it. She stayed in the lines and covered all the white bits too!

You are improving every day Room 13 because your fingers are getting strong and clever!

Buddy reading

Katie and Lewis did such a good job at buddy reading time today. They showed one another the covers of their books and the title page and then they read their reading books.
